Mara I am so sorry. This is awful!
I have friends who were also waiting with this agency.
I really hope something can be done. Truly.

I know this post is OLD, but...

"It’s easy to dismiss people with labels like “angry”, “ungrateful”, “bitter”, or to sweep a story under the carpet by saying that one individual had a ‘bad experience’."

Yeah. Yeah it is.

I understand your anger. However, I can understand the anger of Lori-Tay as well. Personally, I'd be thrilled to be given the opportunity to adopt or foster a child in need. BUT- I also resent the assumption that infertile couples are more responsible than others to see that children are adopted/ fostered. Adoption is not a bandaid- it is something that should not be considered JUST because you can't have children of your own, and to have it suggested that if you ARE infertile "you can always adopt", is a slap in the face, and I believe this is where Lori-Tay's comment is truly stemming from. It is human nature to want a biological child, and while I don't agree entirely with what the commenter said, I don't agree entirely with your anger over her feelings either.

On that note, however, this is a great post, I'm glad I found it!

My comment is actually related to the one about your feed, although I will go read the article - thanks for suggesting it.

I use Google Reader, and it finds your feed with no problem. Here's the feed address it uses:

It's time to pull the plug on the fat, ignorant, blowhard of a racist 'entertainer'. Enough is enough. He spews nothing but mindless opinion and garbage.

Hey - Thanks so much for the comment on my blog.

I could not agree with this post more. I respect that California family so much for doing what they knew was best for the child.

I especially agree with the AYAP girl comment...although I can make an argument (because that's what I apparently LOVE to do) for both gender selection and AYAP. Ie: gender selection: because of the government oversight in screening adoptive homes, existing children may not share bedrooms with adopted children of different genders, which can present a space issue. So from a logistical standpoint, gender selection isn't TERRIBLE. But then? I look at the market for AYAP girls, and my reasoning flies out the window.

Thanks again for your comment - I really appreciated it.
